If〜not節とUnless節の違い

02 　[unless と if not を比較せよ, 置き換えられない場合がある]
a) If I can’t go, I’ll call you.
　　(= I think I’ll be able to go, so I probably won’t call you.)
　「もし行けなければ、電話をします」（そんなことはないと思います）
　b) Unless I can go, I’ll call you.
　　(= I don’t think I’ll be able to go, so I’ll probably call you) [GB.p.351]
　「行ける場合は電話をしませんから別として、電話をかけます」
　　（行けないと思いますので、きっと電話をします）
